Meet Dr. Isdith

Dr. Kathleen Isdith is a native of New York. Her undergraduate training was completed at New York University at which time she received a Bachelor of Arts and Science. She then went on to her studies at New York University College of Dentistry and completed her residency at NYU in a four year training program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. In 1997, following the completion of her oral surgery training, she moved to Seattle, Washington to start a fellowship at the University of Washington under the direction of Dr. Phillip Worthington. During this one year of fellowship she did extensive work in implant surgery, as well as grafting procedures. After the completion of her fellowship, she was asked to stay on at the University as an assistant professor. Her duties included teaching the undergraduate students as well as instructing residents in oral surgery. She also took part in surgeries at the Seattle VA Medical Center, Harborview, and Children’s Hospital. Presently, she is an affiliate faculty member at the University of Washington.

Dr. Isdith and Dr. Hart met in 1997 at the University of Washington. She was asked to become an associate at Dr. Hart’s practice in July 1998.

Dr. Hart and Dr. Isdith worked together until October 2000, at which time she was asked to become a partner. She is now a full partner in the practice. Her areas of expertise consist of surgical extraction of wisdom teeth, routine extractions, biopsies, orthodontic related procedures and occasional trauma cases. Implants are also of great interest to Dr. Isdith. At this time she places Straumann 3-I implants, Branemark implants, Astra implants, and Imtec implants.  Dr. Isdith makes use of many advanced grafting procedures like BMP, Cadaver Bone, Bio-Oss, PRP and PRF.  All of these methods enhance the success of implants.

Dr. Isdith is also the type of person who likes to give the patient the option of using general anesthetic versus local anesthesia. She is a firm believer in allowing the patient to choose the type of treatment that suits them better. She prides herself on having her office be one in which the patient is comfortable in making their own decisions and being allowed to explore the possibilities that will make them the most comfortable.

On a personal note, Dr. Isdith is an avid skier and hiker. She is also a dog lover. Beavis and Ernie, her two French Bulldogs will attest to that any day! Dr. Isdith has enjoyed her move to Seattle both professionally and personally. Dr. Isdith and her husband welcomed their first child, Jack, into their lives in 2004. She welcomed her second son, Eddie, in August of 2006!
Dr. Isdith believes in giving back to the community. She has enjoyed joining several Mukilteo Dentists in “Walking to Fight Poverty.”  She also supports several Washington based programs in fighting poverty on the Eastside, and has generously donated to the Sunrise for Children organization. Dr. Isdith will start volunteering at Swedish Hospital in Seattle this February. The Clinic will service patients who are unable to afford oral surgery procedures.  Seattle Magazine has listed Dr. Isdith among Seattle’s “Top Dentists” in 2011!

Dr. Isdith looks forward to meeting you in the future and providing the best treatment that she can for you as a patient in her office.
